Visiting Auntie Helen and Uncle Butch

Mom, Dad, Jonny, and I went to visit auntie Helen and uncle Butch in Courtney. Auntie Helen had just had her second surgery to kick cancer's ass and it was successful. YAY! Auntie Helen is a super healer and a trooper. She has a great attitude and is very spirited. It was hard to believe that she had just been operated on. She looked and sounded great. I pretty much expect her to be running around by tomorrow.
Before we left on our little adventure to the island I needed to get some long pants and bigger sweaters to fit my huge body.
Jonny did a great job helping me shop again. Thanks Jonny!! Eyes closed picture.
Mom and Dad picked us up at 10:30 on Friday and we caught the 12:30 ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. The Frank Hurt football team was also on the ferry. I don't think they saw me.
 I love getting driven around.
We stopped for lunch at the Cactus Club in Nanaimo. I am making a monkey face with the monkey queen.
Dad got THE BURGER. It wasn't as good as the one he had with Sam at the Cactus Club in White Rock.
 Mom had a chicken salad.
We met up with Uncle Butch at the Flying Canoe.
Where they made mom gluten free pizza.
The Best Western was all decorated up.

The next day we ate at a restaurant named Fluid. I had a huge clubhouse sandwich.
Mom had a gluten free chicken burger.... with a bun.
 Dad had the salmon burger.
Jonny had the ahi tuna tacos.
Whose truck do you think this is?
Uncle Butch's new ride. It is a right side driver. Here is Jonny catching a ride.
Pregnant me resting on the super cozy bed.
Mom and Dad found a game room in the hotel. It was fun for a few minutes. What else are you going to do in the rain?

Jonny and Dad playing some pool.
Uncle Butch lent this book to dad.
Checking out my girth in the mirror. Jonny getting a picture.. thanks Uncle Pat for making him take pictures of my pregnant belly. (sarcasm) Look at my super impressed face.
Saturday night there was a 7.7 earthquake up in the Queen Charlottes and a tsunami warning was issued for coastal areas of BC. Fortunately, there was no big wave.
Jonny couldn't sleep on Saturday night so he watch Ghostbusters one and two.
The sun was shining on the ferry ride home. We caught the 12:30 ferry back to Horseshoe Bay.
 Back on the mainland.
And home to my beautiful love flowers.
Thanks mom and dad for inviting us to go and see Auntie Helen and Uncle Butch with you.
Here are a few more pictures from Dad's phone:

JAX Beach Summer School 2018

Our summer adventure began by leaving Frank Hurt a week early, the same time as the students. We drove to Bellingham and stayed at the hotel by the Slo Pitch. We had snacks and went swimming. Step one: Get through the border was done. The next mission was to make it through the Seattle traffic. We also stopped off at Bellis Fair and got a new hat for Big Boy as he left his in grandma's basement before we left.

In Seattle we stayed by the airport and found Angle Lake. It has a beach, BBQ spots, a play park, and a water park... and washrooms. I didn't have my suit on this time, because we thought it was just a water park, but next time, I am jumping in. Big Boy didn't want to go in without me.

C-SIDE aka CarrieSIDE

We watched the weather forecast closely to make sure we would have some nice days in Seaside. We had until Friday to cancel. The weather looked good until the day we left so we went for it. The morning we woke up to leave (Tuesday), the weather app changed and gave us two bad days. Too late now! Off we went to Seaside. Carrie was already on her way but we did get an earlier start that I thought we would. We left at 7am. Here is the boy before we left - sad faced and with Bear.
The City Center Motel. We were in unit 1 beside the pool. This was a great unit for us. Number 6 on the other side of the pool looks nice too. I thought we were going to miss having the little cottage one - but this was much nicer because the boy could have his bath.
Tuesday, we arrived and headed straight to the beach to play. We did wave jumping, beach bowling, and we made some roads and tunnels. Christian found a buddy his age and they had a great time chasing each other and playing.

Carrie found us! She …

End of Summer Adventures aka: Running Away from Project "FIX THE PATIO"

Bellingham  Well, this sucks... they are jack hammering outside our patio door. We better run away. Where can we go? Let's go to Bellingham and then back to Seattle and go swim in that lake again.

Seattle  It was super hot the day we got to Seattle... we decided to wait to go to the lake until the next day... and it started raining?! One day we will spend the day at the lake and make a bbq. We did the second best thing and took the train to the city. Christian loves the train.

Whistler  We came home and got a nice bamboo fence to block out the views, bring us some shade, and give us some security.

But.. the drilling continued on Monday... and got closer! Off to Whistler.
