Day 2!

I'm writing this entry from my phone on my balcony overlooking palm trees and sitting beside my surf board. Not how I usually like to be with my board but still feels awesome and my smile is genuine.

Today is day 2. The first thing I would like to say is goodbye to auntie Ad. She had a long life and always had a funny thing to say. Even though I didn't see you that much anymore, I will still miss you.

Yesterday was an awesome first day. I got to surf and I met three more surfer chicks! They are all Swiss and teachers! We did a 6:30am run this morning too. It was super nice to get up and go for a run. It started pouring on our run back and it felt nice but I was worried about my runpod. That was the first time I ran in the rain with it. I was glad I made the arm band out of waterproof material- damn I'm smart!!

Today the waves are small and the first high tide was at 5am. The second one which is still low is at 4pm. I will check the waves soon and if they were like yesterday I will go. The boys say there will be nothing and I hate to say it looked pretty nothing this morning. It will probably be like this till the new moon which isn't too far.

It is weird for me not to be staying in my little room. I have reserved it for when Patrick leaves. I saw Tia and ague yesterday and they were so happy to see me. I can't wait till I am back at komila so I can hang out with them. It is nice to have a nice hotel with wifi though! I'm ballin'. I also have a pool and free breakfast. It's very nice :-)

K- I'm going to eat some lunch. I think we will probably have nasi Padang. This will be my first time this year- yum!!

Later!!! Happy day 2!!

Vegas Annibirthversry Days: May 16 - 20, 2013 - The Boy's First Flight

My birthday started on Wednesday when we were still in Vancouver. Jonny, Christian, and I went for a walk and chill. Jonathon got his hairs trimmed up and we sat at a couple of different city spots and enjoyed the different flavours and views. Somewhere along our travels we lost Sophie the giraffe and wish her well in her new life. I envision her with a cute little puppy squeaking happily. Christian's new favourite things to put in his mouth are water bottles.... and... Gatorade bottles...  At one of our chill spots Jonny gave me my birthday presents... I scored! I also won ten bucks on crossword scratch and wins. It was a great day that started with swimming and ended with beers with G in Gastown. None of it was planned it just was one of those nice sunny I am leaving for Vegas on my birthday tomorrow days.  The next morning came too soon. A hang over is never fun and it is even less fun with a baby that wakes up and is ready to go and is smiling at you an...

California Toddler Tripping: Vancouver - Langley - Seattle - Seaside

We knew that road tripping with a toddler wasn't going to be always pleasant - but we also knew that it would be way better than being on a plane - at least with our toddler. Christian is one and a half on this trip and just like last year he went through some new changes just to mess with us. Luckily, we are a powerful team and we were able to overcome these challenges … so far!  Our journey started in Vancouver. We stopped at the skate park to drop off used shoes and decks. Some kid is going to be happy. (or bum?)  Next stop: Langley! We had a visit with Grandma and Grandpa. I love this picture :-)  Christian likes Grandpa's cars - watch out!  Next stop: Seattle!  Light rail to the Crab Pot.  The Crab Pot - we made it and we ATE it!  Christian is scoring with the toys on this trip. Now I really understand why I got new toys when my parents took us on road trips!  Sunset Seattle squirm time. ...
